Adult isiZulu Beginners Course for Community  

The Siyakhuluma Project is offering 2nd Language adult isiZulu education at local schools and community centres in Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal;. The course work makes use of practical teaching and learning methods whilst focusing on relevant language use in the KwaZulu-Natal, South African context.  

General information of the course

  • 8 x 1 hour classes.
  • Classes held at local community centres and schools.
  • Qualified isiZulu teachers.

  • A key component of our course is the cultural learning aspect. By learning isiZulu from an isiZulu teacher who is also a mother tongue speaker, the students have the opportunity to learn isiZulu culture.  
  • The work is very simple. Students are given digestible amounts of information that can be processed and remembered.
  • Students are exposed to language that is spoken in KZN.
  • Class is structure around practical reinforcement exercises and relevant language use.
  • Focus is on learner orientated activities.
