Below is a break down of our venues, starting dates and information for our isiZulu beginners course starting January and February 2016.

 

Beginners isiZulu course: R650 per person per course.

 

8 x 1h15m classes over 8 weeks.

The purpose of The Siyakhuluma Projects beginner’s course is to expose the learners to practical and relevant isiZulu language use. All course work is included and you are not required to purchase a text book.

Term 2 April - June 2016 Venues:

 

Westville: Westville Baptist Church - Mondays

Start: April 25th Monday 18:45 - 20:00

End: June 20th Monday 18:45 - 20:00

 

Bluff:  Ansteys Backpackers / Heidis Cafe – Tuesdays

Start: April 26th Tuesday 18:45 - 20:00

End: June 14th Tuesday 18:45 - 20:00

 

Durban North: Hellenic Center: - Wednesdays

Start: April 27th Wednesday 18:45 - 20:00

End: June 15th Wednesday 18:45 - 20:00

 

Pinetown: Pinetown Baptist Church - Thursdays

Start: April 28th Thursday 18:45 - 20:00

End: June 23rd Thursday 18:45 - 20:00

 

 

The course work covers;

·       The cultural aspects of the Zulu people and their language.

·       How to make polite requests; Petrol station and shops themes. The course work is set in themes that use relevant language use in the KZN context.

·       Basic sentence structure. How to form simple practical sentences.

·       The IsiZulu phonetics; Clicks & Obstruents (C,Q,X,HL).

·       The 8 noun classes of isiZulu which are very important to understand when learning a Bantu language.

·       Course work is practical in nature and focuses on student centered teaching methods. Emphasis is made on reinforcement exercises.

·       You can attend other venues if you need to make up a missed class.

All students are welcome to redo the course again for free! All Siyakhuluma Project classes will have places for returning students. We know how long it takes to learn a language which is why you should come back to refresh your minds before taking on level 2.
